How to request:

  1. Visit your library’s website and log in, or go in person.

  2. Provide the book’s title, author (Nadia Alexis), and ISBN ( 978-1-960327-09-3).

  3. Ask them to order a copy!

Visit this page on my site, for more details on how to do this and how it benefits ibraries.

Leave a Review / Post & Share on Social Media

Reviews help! They can help books reach more people and show bookstores & libraries that people are engaging with the work.

Whether it’s a sentence or more, your words make an impact:

  • Leave a review on Goodreads, StoryGraph, Amazon, and other book platforms. It can be as short or long as you like it.

  • Write a longer review for a literary magazine or journal.

  • Create a video-style review on TikTok or Instagram.

  • Recommend the book to a friend or colleague, and tell them what you loved about it.

Give us your pictures:

  • Post a picture of the book (on a shelf, in your hands, outdoors, or wherever you like!). Feel free to tag me on Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky or Twitter/X.

  • Or if you prefer, send me a picture of the book directly.

Celebrate it with Black Women Writers Week

Beyond the Watershed comes out into the world on March 4, 2025, during Black Women Writers Week (March 1-7), an annual celebration of Black women authors founded by Rowana of Spoken Black Girl.

Here’s how you can take part in Black Women Writers Week and support Beyond the Watershed:

  • Read, share, and uplift work by Black women writers.

  • From my book, share your favorite poems or images from the book, write a review, post a photo, or even discuss it in your book club or classroom.

  • Follow @SpokenBlackGirl on Instagram to learn more about Black Women Writers Week and participate in their activities.

  • Do any of the actions on this page, whether it’s requesting Beyond the Watershed at your library, buying it from my publisher, ordering it at your local bookstores, inviting me for an event, or gifting the book to a friend, I’m so grateful for your support!
